City/CUPE Scholarship Learning Program
The Joint City/CUPE Scholarship Learning Program was a key feature of the Joint Education Fund. During the 2010/2011 contract negotiations between the City of Winnipeg and CUPE Local 500, the Letter of Understanding Re: Education, Training and Staff Development saw a reduction in funding from the previous agreement of $1.5 million dollars over three years to $1 million over four years.
As a result, the current programs and opportunities supported by the fund were prioritized and based on the training dollars allocated, the Scholarship Learning Program, will no longer be available.
The Joint City/CUPE Education Fund will continue to support the E-Learning Centre, Foremanship Program and Respectful Workplace Training.
We would like to acknowledge and thank all CUPE members who participated in the Scholarship Learning Program over the years.
