Humane Society members ratify new agreement

Local 500 members working at the Humane Society voted 90% in favour of a new agreement on February 10, 2010. The new three year deal includes wage increases of 1.5%, 2% and 2% over the term of the agreement.

Other highlights include improvements to pay for employees holding two part-time positions and a $50.00 boot allowance was negotiated for full-time drivers.

The current agreement expired on December 31, 2009. The Humane Society is made up of about 90 Local 500 members.
