An Urgent Appeal to help Support Disaster Relief in Haiti
Haiti has been hit by the first large earthquake in 240 years leaving
an estimated 3 million Haitians homeless and without access to basic needs.
Sadly, the death toll is growing.
This is a moment in which your solidarity is of critical importance.
Already, across the country, many CUPE Locals including Local 500 have
pledged donations to Haiti. The magnitude of this tragedy means those
donations must continue. From rescue to aid to restoration, Haiti needs
our help.

Local 500 committees looking for new members
Local 500 has a number of active committees involved in a wide variety of important union work. Some committees are joint and mandated by our contract, while others are established to get results on behalf of union strategic plans and other union initiatives.
The Local is always looking for new members to serve on these committees. The Local 500 website contains a Committee Profile for each committee, including the name of the chairperson. You can visit our committee main page and click on the committee you are interested in.
