2019 UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN

October 29, 2019 at 5:19 AM

The United Way has a long and proud history of partnering with the labour movement to ensure that workers and their families have access to social services in their community.

This past year, the United Way of Winnipeg raised over $21 million dollars to help provide supports and services that saves and changes lives all across our city.

As a CUPE 500 member, you can be a part of Winnipeg's future by helping to fund the needs of Winnipeggers in our city! The following are a few ways you can be involved in this year's campaign:

CUPE 500 Members who are employed at the City of Winnipeg:

CUPE 500 members can participate in donor directed giving through the City of Winnipeg Charitable Fund (CWCF). Donations made via the CWCF are split between both United Way Winnipeg & the Winnipeg Foundation. We rely on your collective giving to make a collective impact in our shared community. A payroll deduction starting with $1 or $2 recognizes you as both a CUPE 500 member and City of Winnipeg worker.

To donate to United Way Winnipeg, follow the link to access your CWCF pledge form the city's intranet http://citynet/intrahom/cwcf/pdfs/CWCFPledgeForm.pdf or click here for the fillable form.

CUPE 500 members who are employed at workplaces other than the City of Winnipeg:

As a CUPE 500 member, you can make a monthly or one time donation by visiting the United Way Winnipeg's online donation platform: https://unitedwaywinnipeg.ca/give/

Every dollar matters - if what you can commit to is a monthly donation of $1 or $2 dollars, you may not notice it, but the hundreds of thousands of Winnipeggers who rely on the services of United Way funded agency partners, most definitely will!

We are stronger together! Thank you for your continued commitment to fighting for justice and equality. We want dignity, respect and fairness for all of Winnipeg!
