Bulletin #6 - CUPE Local 500/City of Winnipeg Bargaining Update

May 31, 2021 at 1:59 PM

CUPE Local 500 and the City of Winnipeg have completed four more days of bargaining on May 11, 12, 26 and 27.

At these sessions, both sides continued to discuss non-monetary proposals. We’ve made some headway in a few areas while some items still require further negotiation.

We are scheduled to meet again virtually on June 8, 9 and 10. At these sessions, we will work on resolving the remaining non-monetary items before moving on to monetary proposals. We anticipate providing another bargaining update following the next round of talks.

The parties are also looking to schedule additional dates over the summer months.

Wages, job security/contracting out, benefit improvements and sick/vacation days are the top priorities in this round of negotiations.
