Bargaining Bulletin #11 - February 28, 2011

CUPE LOCAL 500/CITY OF WINNIPEG BARGAINING UPDATE

On Monday, February 28, bargaining between the Union and the City resumed. The Union was hoping the City would table a deal by the end of the day that we could recommend to you. Unfortunately, this was not the case at the conclusion of our session.

Both parties will meet again on Tuesday morning (March 1). Please note that talks have not broken off and we will continue our efforts to reach a settlement without having to resort to strike action. We will be sending out another bulletin update on Tuesday to let you know how talks are progressing. We thank you for your continued patience and support.

Rumours

There are many rumours out in the workplace. Please do not believe anything you hear unless it comes from the Union. If you have a concern or question, contact the Local 500 office directly. Ignore the rumours and get the facts!

Watch for more information

From now and until we reach an agreement, we’ll be sending out regular communications. Please check your bulletin board for bargaining updates. If you have access to the internet, you can also check the Local 500 website at www.cupe500.mb.ca or sign-up for email updates.
