Convention Centre Members Approve New Agreement

On November 14, 2012, members voted 92% in favour of the tentative agreement between the Winnipeg Convention Centre and CUPE Local 500.
Highlights of the agreement:
Term of Agreement:
Four years: February 5, 2012 and shall remain in effect until February 4, 2016
Wages:
- Increase all rates effective February 5, 2012 by 0.5%
- Increase Warewasher (1st 500 Hours) to $10.30 Effective October 1, 2012
- Increase all rates effective February 5, 2013 by 1.99%
- Increase all rates effective February 5, 2014 by 2.5%
- Increase all rates effective February 5, 2015 by 2.5%
Other:
ü 2.5% increase to shift premium each year.
ü Increase in footwear allowance
ü Bereavement leave – increase from 3 to 4 days
ü Vacation pay improvements for part-time staff
