A resolution from CUPE's 2011 National Convention designated 2013 as the Year of the New and Young Worker.
As part of the Year of the New and Young Worker, CUPE National is organizing a special Young Workers Strategy Session, August 19-21 in Montreal. At this gathering of members aged 30 and younger, we will put our minds together to learn, share ideas and develop a vision for CUPE to engage and respond to the needs of younger members.
Now is the time for young workers in CUPE to do some deep thinking together about what we are facing, what matters to us as workers, and what is needed in our union.
A selection process will be used to ensure a balance of diversity that reflects our membership. Young members are encouraged to complete this application form. All expenses, including travel, accommodations, per diem and lost wages, etc., will be covered by CUPE National to help make your full participation possible.
Our union is powerful - together we can achieve the change we want to see in our movement and in the world.
