Important Update for all Local 500 members at Riverview Health Centre - Reorganization of Support Services

Greetings:
I am writing to update you on an important issue related to the reorganization of Support Services (Nutrition, Housekeeping and Service Partners) at Riverview Health Centre. The Centre is proceeding with changes for September 30, 2013.
Firstly, I want to assure you that the Union has been asking questions and advocating on your behalf. We have raised a number of valid concerns, and are trying to work with the employer to resolve these issues. Our concerns include ensuring that proper process is followed, seniority is respected, job changes are fair, and job reductions are minimized.
We know that there are unanswered questions and concerns about how this reorganization may affect you. We want to assure you that we will do our utmost to see that that your best interests are advanced and the collective agreement is adhered to.
Accordingly, we will be continuing our discussions with the employer and will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
