CUPE Local 500 and Winnipeg's Urban Forestry Branch teamed up to host the Mrs. Claus float IMG_2408-2_edited.jpgat the 104th Annual Santa Claus Parade on November 16.

About 30 people made up of Local 500 members and their families took part in the parade handing out candy canes to thousands of spectators who came out for the annual event.

“I want to thank the Local 500 members and their families who helped out at this year’s parade,” said Local 500 President, Mike Davidson.  “I know that many volunteer hours were spent putting the float together and I want everyone to know that their time and efforts are greatly appreciated.”

The Mrs. Claus float was created by the Urban Forestry Branch and included two Local 500 banners on each side.  The Local made a donation to help offset the costs for the costumes and candy canes.
